Welcome to the Las Juntas Community!

My name is Patty Crespo and I am so grateful to return as Principal of Las Juntas Elementary for the 2025-26 school year. I am so excited about starting my 3rd year at LJE. As many of you already know if you've been by the school lately, this is our busiest time of year as we get ready to welcome everyone back while our teachers finish getting their classrooms ready to start school next Wednesday, August 13th.

Our theme this year is "Bloom Where You Learn" as we will focus this year on increasing readiness for rigor, responsibility, and respect in all of our classrooms. We strongly believe that all of our students can bloom and thrive when given the necessary resources. The necessary resources are established at home and at school and can be accessed by all of our students. We really want to support our students as they may struggle and push through difficult concepts in their learning. We continue to encourage families to read at home in their home language every single night as well as review math facts, like addition and subtraction problems. Learning something new may seem hard but the struggle means that our students are learning a new concept that they have to fit into their minds. This is what makes learning exciting for our students and for our teachers. We love helping our students become experts in something new.

Please help me help our teachers by supporting them throughout the year, even when learning seems hard. That's when you will know that learning is happening. Here's to a wonderful and exciting 2025-26 school year at Las Juntas Elementary.
